About

Hi folks. Let me introduce myself and tell you what Overclocking.ca is all about.

First off my name is Jerry and I’m from Ottawa, ON, Canada. I’ve been an overclocker for almost 10 years and been building computers for the last 15 years. I remember my very first OC. It was back in 2002 with an AMD Duron 800MHz (Spitfire). Back in those days, we did the graphite pencil trick to fill in the locked L2 cache which unlocked the cpu to be overclocked. I was able to push it to 1.0GHz using a Thermal Take Super Mini Orb HSF. That think sounded like a Cessna.

To tell you more about myself, I work in the IT field doing tech support. I am a geek at heart and a hardware enthusiast. I often get told I look more like a biker than a computer nerd. As for interests other than computers (is there really anything else? LOL) I enjoy reading, watching movies and TV, playing video games (that’s a given), genealogy, muscle cars and tattoos.

Enough about me. Overclocking.ca is a place where I will be posting my builds I have done in the past for myself and others. As well I will be posting computer builds from others. I will be updating the site with benchmark results, overclocking achievements and various other computer related tidbits.  Stay tuned for my Ivy Bridge build coming in the spring. This will be a series of video logs.
